River Design was founded in 1998 with two workstations, a scanner, and a guy named Ken. Yup, that's me in the photo on the right, but right now you're probably wondering, why two workstations for just one guy? I really don't know either.
I'm not really the artsy-fartsy type... in fact I like a swift game of street hockey about as much as anything else, but I've always had a discerning eye for good design. And more importantly, I know how to create a moving experience.
A moving what? Well, during my college days when I studied marketing, I learned that successful marketing campaigns elicit an emotional response from their audience. People spend money for experiences. That's why folks are willing to shell out $500 to be at the stadium when the Yankees and the Red Sox duke it out when they could just watch the game at home for free. That's also why movie theaters sell pop corn. And that's why a professional, emotionally-engaging web site or brochure or catalog or... whatever else I do will create just the right experience to move your prospects into customers.
But wait, there's more!
I'm one of the few suckers who decided I'd like to be an expert in both the online world and in the physical. And after 10+ years of experience in both, I can provide truly integrated marketing where your various media works together to strengthen your brand. Yes, your letterhead will match your brochures will match your web site will match your message. Plus many of my clients have found that they've gained tremendous efficiencies by not having to deal with asking their web designer to send a logo to the graphic designer who replies when he gets a low-res jpg that the web designer is a moron who doesn't understand the first thing about 4-color printing and ultimately has to redesign the logo anyway before... well, you get the picture. With me and my two workstations, you'll get a convenient one-stop-shop for whatever your marketing plan throws at you. Need an attractive, search-engine-friendly, lean-code, database-driven, credit card-processing, content-managed web site? No problem. Need a poster, postcard, 15-panel fold-out map, 320-page catalog, or 30-foot trade show graphic? Old hat.
I know, I know. While I'm dispensing cliches, you're coming up with one of your own. So, am I a jack of all trades, but master of none? I'll just have to let you decide that for yourself.
So, by now you're probably just left with one lingering question: Why the name, "River Design?" Well, I'm afraid that before I answer that particular question, you're gonna have to get to know me a little better.
